Air Quality Precautions

Hello Family,

We want you to be aware of recent events that have affected our Metro Detroit area. The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) has issued a Statewide Air Quality Alert for July 17, 2026, for elevated levels of fine particulate due to wildfire smoke. Monitor air quality at EPA AirNow. We also want you to be aware of high temperatures. Please employ appropriate safety precautions, as necessary, and stay hydrated. If you are able, it would be wise to employ the use of an N95 or P100 respirator marked with “NIOSH, if you choose to be outdoors (Please carefully consider the public health conditions/cautions and make the best choices for you and your children, in light of recent events).

Again, when outdoors, If possible, wear an N95 or P100 respirator marked with “NIOSH.” If N95 or P100 respirators are not available or do not fit well, properly selected KN95 and KF94 respirators also filter particulate matter. Medical or surgical masks are the least effective option and should only be used as a last resort. Cloth, paper masks and tissues will not filter out wildfire smoke. It is recommended that you do not use masks for children under age 2.

Message to Attendees

Family and Friends:

Below is a message from the Detroit Mariott Hotel at the Renaissance Ctr., the Reunion’s Host Hotel.

  1. Parking: I would advise guests to park in Beaubien Garage, which offers in-and-out privileges to hotel guests for a flat rate of $25 per day and can be charged to guestrooms. Valet parking is also available for $30 daily/$40 overnight.
  2. Check-In: Our check-in time is 4:00 PM, and check-out time is 11:00 AM. For contactless
    arrival, we suggest Mobile Check-In and Mobile Key through the Marriott Bonvoy app if you’re a Bonvoy member.
  3. Food & Beverage: Our hotel restaurant and bar, Fuell, is currently open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We also have the Motor City Pantry open daily from 6:00 AM – midnight, which offers grab-and-go options. Illy Cafe is currently open daily from 6:00 AM – 1:00 PM.
  4. Housekeeping: Our hotel has resumed providing daily stayover housekeeping service. If you need extra towels or any additional amenities, they are available at the front desk for pick-up, or you may dial “0” from any house phone to request these items be delivered to your hotel room.
  5. Wi-Fi: $14.95 a day. Complimentary Basic Internet in guest rooms with individual Bonvoy membership.
  6. Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be made 48 hours prior to arrival. Please note that we will assess a one-night fee if you cancel after the deadline.
